About

Halloween Hustle 5K and Monster Mile takes place in Evansville, Indiana, on October 30, 2027. A kids' sprint opens the morning at 7:50 a.m., then the Halloween Hustle 5K, covering 3.1 miles, and the Monster Mile both start at 8:00 a.m.

Choosing between the two is largely a question of what your training has looked like. A mile at full effort suits someone with speed and no long runs behind them; the 5K rewards a month of steady mileage with one weekly hard session. Neither takes much out of you, and both are short enough that you can race on Saturday and be back to normal training by Monday, which is exactly why a late-October 5K works so well inside a longer winter buildup.
