Greenland Trail Races

Greenland Trail Races take place in Palmer Lake, Colorado, on May 1, 2027, in southern Douglas County. Four trail distances go off in waves: the 50K at 7:00 AM, the 25K at 7:30 AM, an 8-mile race (12.9 km) at 8:00 AM and a 4-mile race (6.4 km) at 8:30 AM. The 50K ultra has a reputation as a fast course, run on soft dirt trail with views of Pikes Peak. Chip timing, men's and women's technical shirts and refreshments at the finish are included.

Soft footing and a course known for speed make this a reasonable place to run a first 50K or chase a solid trail time, while the 4- and 8-mile options suit runners who are newer to racing off road. Altitude is worth planning for if you live near sea level, so give yourself conservative early miles. For the longer distances, a two- to three-month build with one long trail run each week and some practice eating on the move will cover you.
