About

The Greater Binghamton Bridge Run takes place in Binghamton, New York, in early May, with a USATF-certified half marathon (13.1 miles) and a 5K. The half marathon starts at 7:30 a.m., the 5K at 9:30 and a kids' fun run of about one mile follows at 10:45. The course is mostly flat and fast, with only about 98 feet of elevation change, so it suits runners chasing a personal best.

Runners cross four bridges, the Clinton, Court, Tompkins and Washington, with views of the Susquehanna and Chenango rivers. The route passes through downtown, west side and south side neighborhoods, giving a good look at the city. On a flat course the main risk is going out too fast, so settle into goal pace early and save something for the final bridge.
