About

The Grand to Grand Ultra is North America's only self-supported stage race, a multi-day ultramarathon covering roughly 171 miles from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to the Grand Staircase in southern Utah. Runners cross a shifting desert landscape of sand dunes, red-rock canyons, buttes, mesas, hoodoos, and slot canyons, following a tributary of the Virgin River through one of the most remote stretches of the American Southwest. The route passes through terrain rich in desert flora and fauna, including cacti, bighorn sheep, and the California condor, and draws a genuinely international field of ultrarunners each year.
