About

God's Country Marathon is held on June 5, 2027, in Potter County, Pennsylvania. The marathon (26.2 mi) and the half marathon (13.1 mi) are on the program, along with a team relay. The event has a long-standing reputation for both its scenery and the difficulty of its course. Start times are not listed in our records.

A marathon known for being hard is one to run by effort from the first mile rather than by a target pace — the hills decide your time, and fighting them early only moves the damage to mile twenty. If you want to race it rather than survive it, spend the last six weeks on rolling long runs, and rehearse running downhill when already tired.
