The Georgia Jewel in Dalton is more than an ultramarathon: it is a family tradition that reflects the spirit of trail running in the southeastern United States. The 100 Miler (160.9 km) starts at noon on September 17, 2027, followed on September 18 by the 50 Miler (80.5 km) at 7:30 a.m., the 35 Miler (56.3 km) at 7:35 a.m. and the 18 Miler (29 km) at 8:30 a.m.

Since taking over the race in 2016, the Baker family has made the Jewel as welcoming as it is challenging. From rugged mountain trails to an encouraging atmosphere at the finish, the Jewel is designed to celebrate both individual grit and community connection. Runners of all levels are welcome, with distances that test endurance while fostering the camaraderie that makes trail running special. At its heart, the Jewel is not about miles but about creating a space where every runner feels seen, supported and inspired to discover the joy and resilience that trail running can bring.
