Fungi Fest 5k

Fungi Fest 5k is run in Snow Hill, Maryland, on November 7, 2026, with a single start at 9:00 a.m. One format, right around three miles, and a gun time that leaves the rest of the Saturday free once you have finished.

Short races reward specificity rather than volume. Instead of adding mileage, spend the four weeks beforehand doing one weekly session of six to eight 400-meter repeats at the pace you want to hold, jogging two minutes between them, and keep everything else easy. On the day, warm up for at least ten minutes; a race this short is over before your body sorts itself out if you start cold. Then aim to run the second half no slower than the first, which is harder than it sounds.
