About

The Fly the Flag 5K/2K in Crown Point, Lake County, offers a 5K run and a 2K run/walk on July 4, 2027, with both starting at 7:30 a.m. It is a lively event for runners and competitors of all ages and abilities.

Each course winds along scenic paths and around the picturesque lake at the fairgrounds. Awards go to the top overall finishers and to the leaders of each age group, which run from 0–8 all the way up to 80 and over, so there is plenty of motivation to chase a PR and a spot on the podium. The first 500 registrants receive a unique medal. It is a true community event, held in support of local first responders.
