About

The Garland Marathon takes place in Garland, Texas, in early May. The program includes the Firewheel Marathon (26.2 miles), the Texas Western Half Marathon (13.1 miles), the Rodeo Run 10K and 5K, a one-mile race and a new Kid's Dash. The marathon and half marathon start at 7:00 a.m., the Kid's Dash at 7:45 and the Rodeo Run races shortly after 8:00.

Finishers receive an event-themed medal, every participant gets a themed shirt, the top runners in each age group are recognized, and winners also take home a trophy. Early May in North Texas can turn warm quickly, which is why the early marathon start matters. Plan to hydrate from the opening miles rather than waiting until you feel thirsty.
