Fall Classic Half Marathon & 10k

Named one of the eight best road races in Virginia, the Fall Classic Half Marathon & 10k in Charlottesville is a must for runners looking for a challenge and memorable scenery. The half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km) and the 10K (6.2 miles) both start at 7:00 a.m. on October 18, 2026. Founded in 2002, the race starts and finishes on the historic Downtown Mall, taking runners through some of Charlottesville's oldest neighborhoods and along the scenic Rivanna River.

Expect a mix of hilly terrain and flat sections, including about 5 miles (8 km) of flat running along the river, for a varied challenge. The course passes historic sites such as Woolen Mills and is known for its vivid fall colors, enthusiastic community support and a race experience much loved by local runners.
