The Escape the Zom-Bites 5K is a zombie-themed 5K (3.1-mile) survival race in Edinburg, Texas, where runners have to make it around the course while being chased by zombies. It starts at 7:30 a.m. on August 15, 2027.
Each runner starts with three lives and loses one when tagged in specific zones. The event also has a charitable side, honoring a young deaf boxer dog with hip dysplasia. Every finisher receives a custom medal, whatever their place.
