Emil Zatopek Ostrava Golden Marathon

The Emil Zatopek Ostrava Golden Marathon takes place in Ostrava, Czech Republic, on 24 October 2026, in tribute to the famous Czechoslovak athlete Emil Zátopek, with a marathon, a half marathon, an individual 10 km and a team 10 km. This range of formats lets a wide field take part at their own level.

The course runs through the urban heart of Ostrava, a city shaped by its industrial past and its cultural reinvention, with a finish staged in a stadium-style atmosphere. The team 10 km makes for a sociable, collective format that turns the city into a shared playground. The event celebrates Czech sporting heritage through the figure of Zátopek while passing through the landmark districts of the country's third-largest city.
