The Emancipation Day 5K in Laurel, Maryland, features a 5K run or walk and a 1-mile fun walk, both starting at 8:00 a.m. on September 4, 2027. Also billed as the Emancipation Day Diabetes 5K Run/Walk, it benefits the University of Maryland Midtown Diabetes and Endocrinology Center, which provides high-quality care to patients with various types of diabetes and serves more than 3,000 people each year.
