About

The Ed Poling Memorial PA Challenge, based in Washington Township, is a demanding hike on the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania, starting at Caledonia State Park and finishing at Pen Mar Park. On May 15, 2027, it offers 20-mile (32.2 km) and 10-mile (16.1 km) options, both starting at 7:00 a.m.

Participants receive full support, including lunch, snacks, drinks and transportation to the start. Everyone who completes the hike receives a certificate of completion with a group photo, and their names are posted on a “Wall of Fame” web page. The route follows rugged, unpaved trails, and participants need to be in good physical condition and able to keep a steady pace over a long period.
