About

Dyslexia Dash - 3+ Mile Run or Walk is held in Westlake, Texas, on October 31, 2026. The single event is a 5K, just over three miles, run or walked, with the start at 8:00 a.m. on Halloween morning.

Naming the distance as a run or a walk rather than a race sets the expectation nicely: nobody is going to look sideways at you for walking part of it. That makes it a good first event if you have been thinking about signing up for something but have never worn a bib. Two or three easy 30-minute sessions a week for a month is preparation enough. If you would rather race it, the flat suburban roads north of Fort Worth suit even pacing from start to finish.
