About

The Dole 3-Miler is a 3-mile (4.8 km) race on the Fryeburg bike path in Fryeburg, organized by the Fryeburg New Church Assembly. It takes place on August 7, 2027.

The race honors George Dole, a Fryeburg native and longtime runner who took part in the historic Iffley Road race where Roger Bannister became the first man to run a sub-4-minute mile. Dole, who finished fifth in that legendary race, is remembered for his dedication to the sport. The event is for runners who want to push themselves while paying tribute to one of the greats. All profits go to the Fryeburg New Church, its camp and the Mountain Division Rail Trail.
