Día de los Muertos/ Day of the Dead- 5K Run/Walk

Día de los Muertos/ Day of the Dead- 5K Run/Walk is held at Wicker Park in Highland, Indiana, on November 1, 2026. Two formats over the same 5K distance start together at 9 a.m.: the Run with the Spirits 5K and a Remembrance Walk.

The event is organized by Adelante Inc., a nonprofit that promotes the Latino and Hispanic community of Northwest Indiana. The 5K is chip-timed with age-group categories and a Masters division, and awards go to the overall leaders as well as to the best costumes. Shirts are provided to those who register in advance while supplies last, entry fees vary with age and sign-up date, and race-day registration is available if you decide late. With the walk starting alongside the run, groups of very different paces can take part together.
