The DeKalb Corn Classic offers a 10K (6.2 miles) and a 5K (3.1 miles) in DeKalb, Illinois, on September 26, 2027, with the 10K starting at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30 a.m. The scenic course starts and finishes downtown, passes through historic neighborhoods, follows the Kishwaukee River and crosses the Northern Illinois University campus, including Huskie Stadium.

The event wraps up at Van Buer Plaza with a post-race celebration. On-course entertainment includes performances by the Huskie Marching Band, the NIU Jazz Band and the Steelband. Steeped in tradition, this annual event puts community and team spirit at the heart of endurance sports.
