Défi des Couleurs

The Défi des Couleurs, held in Beaupré at Mont-Sainte-Anne from October 8 to 10, 2027, offers a full slate of trail races, from the 42K, 32K, 26K and 21K down to the 17K, 11K, 10K, 6.5K and a 5K Night Trail, plus the MSA Classic Up & Down (11.2 km, 1,000 m of climbing) and the MSA Vertical (4.6 km, 800 m of climbing). Also known as the Défi des Couleurs Simard, it hosts the Canadian Mountain Running Championships, a sign of its standing.

A flagship of the Quebec race calendar for more than a decade, it has become one of the largest events in the country, drawing nearly 3,500 runners at the last edition. Held every year over the Thanksgiving long weekend, it offers a striking fall backdrop and courses designed to challenge athletes of all levels. The new championship courses stand out for their sustained climbs, up to 800 m in a single ascent, combined with rolling, non-technical trails that remain accessible to athletes from every endurance discipline. Starting at the foot of Jean-Larose Falls, the races blend steep mountain running with a festive atmosphere.
