About
DC Peaks 50 is a two-day trail running event based in Kaysville, Utah, on October 2–3, 2026. The 100-mile race starts first, at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 2. Saturday, October 3, brings three more distances: a 50-mile race at 5:00 AM, a 55K (about 34 miles) at 7:00 AM and a 25K (about 15.5 miles) at 10:00 AM.
With the name pointing to peaks and the Wasatch Front right there, plan on sustained mountain climbs and descents rather than rolling singletrack. The 25K is a solid introduction to mountain running, the 55K a good first ultra for a runner who is comfortable with vertical, and the 50-mile and 100-mile distances are for those with previous ultra finishes. For the longer races, a training block of 16 to 24 weeks built around long climbs, steep downhill running to prepare the quads, and back-to-back long runs on weekends will serve you better than flat mileage alone. The 100-mile start time means running through the night, so test your headlamp, layers and night nutrition well before race week.
