The Day of the Dead Half Marathon San Antonio takes place on October 3, 2027, in Live Oak, Texas, in San Antonio's northeast suburbs. Five events start together at 8:00 a.m.: the half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km), 15K (9.3 miles), quarter marathon (6.55 miles / 10.5 km), 5K and mile, following a kids' dash at 7:55 a.m. The course winds through Texas parks, with aid stations offering drinks and energy snacks.

Having a 15K between the quarter marathon and the half is unusual and welcome: it is an ideal distance to test half-marathon pace over three-quarters of the race time, six to eight weeks before a longer goal. Runners new to 13.1 will appreciate the mass start, which makes it easier to settle into a rhythm. The day continues with a Day of the Dead costume contest, live music and Mexican food.
