Dale's Trail 40 Miler is a 40-mile (64.4 km) trail ultramarathon in Wrangell, starting at 7 a.m. on July 2, 2027. The course winds through Wrangell's varied terrain, including stretches of paved road, rugged forest roads, technical brushy singletrack and the well-known Rainbow Falls boardwalk system.
With minimal course support and a limited number of aid stations, runners need to be ready to rely on their own self-sufficiency and experience. Hot meals are served on race day, along with a pre-race dinner. The race follows a double-loop course that starts and finishes at Shoemaker Park. With significant climbing and mixed surfaces on the Rainbow Falls trail system, it is a real test for ultrarunners looking for both competition and adventure.
