Luau Half Marathon at Homestead Air Reserve Park

The Luau Half Marathon at Homestead Air Reserve Park takes place in Homestead, Florida, in late May, in a festive, island-themed atmosphere. Runners can choose a 5K, a 10K or a half marathon (13.1 miles), on a course that passes through urban surroundings.

South Florida is hot and humid in late May, so heat and hydration matter more than pace; take fluids early and slow down if you feel the heat. The area also rewards a longer stay, with Miami and its beaches, Everglades National Park, a UNESCO-listed area known for its wildlife, the Coral Castle built from blocks of coral stone, and Monkey Jungle, where monkeys roam freely.
