About

The Coombs/Douglass Memorial Bay Run (5 Mile & 2 Mile) in Lower Township honors Robert Coombs and David Douglass. On July 31, 2027, it offers a certified 5-mile (8 km) race and a 2-mile (3.2 km) health run/walk, both starting at 8:30 a.m. along Delaware Bay.

Proceeds benefit Special Olympics of South Jersey. Participants receive a T-shirt while supplies last, and awards go to the top runners in a range of age groups, with special recognition for the first firefighter and the first law enforcement officer to finish the 5-mile race. A post-race breakfast is also included.
