CEA/Johanna Foods Turkey Trot

CEA/Johanna Foods Turkey Trot is held in Flemington, New Jersey, on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2026. Two formats start together at 9:30 a.m.: a 5K run (3.1 miles) and a 2 Mile Walk (about 3.2 km), both routed through Flemington's historic streets. The annual event draws thousands of participants and has been a family tradition for generations. The dedicated 2 Mile Walk makes this one of the easier turkey trots to share with relatives who do not run: you can race the 5K while they walk, and both groups start at the same time. If you are going for a time, a large field means lining up near the front and warming up well beforehand, since the first few hundred yards of a crowded downtown start can be slow. For a first 5K, six weeks of three easy runs a week is enough, and the 9:30 a.m. start allows a relaxed breakfast.
