The Cambridge Crab Run takes place in Cambridge, Maryland, in early May, starting at Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh. It is a half marathon (13.1 miles) at 7:30 a.m. followed by a 5K at 9:30. The half marathon follows the same course as the Eagleman event, which lets you try the route in cooler weather.
For a bigger challenge, there is the KING CRAB, which asks you to finish the half marathon in under two hours and then run the 5K. Cambridge sits on the Chesapeake Bay's Eastern Shore, where the terrain is flat and open, so wind is the main variable. Check the forecast and plan to share the work with other runners.
