California Classic Half Marathon

California Classic Half Marathon takes place in Fresno, California, on April 3, 2027. The half marathon (13.1 miles) and the 10K start at 7:00 a.m., the 5K at 7:05 a.m., and a wheelchair half marathon rolls out first at 6:55 a.m. The courses run through the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, past Sea Lion Cove, African Adventure and the new Kingdom of Asia, and finish inside Chukchansi Park. A Rock and Run 5K is offered as an alternative with similar benefits but without the zoo section.

It is a road race, and the half marathon counts toward the CLASSIC Runner of the Year series, which is worth knowing if you race locally through the year. For a first half, a 14-week build with one weekly long run reaching 10 or 11 miles is a sound plan; if you are already fit, the 10K makes the sharper early-April test. With four staggered starts, check your own start time carefully the night before.
