The Buckeye Trail Blue Blaze Festival - Half Marathon, 10K, 5K Run, Hike and Backpack takes place in the historic village of Shawnee on September 25, 2027. Celebrating the Buckeye Trail, the festival welcomes trail runners, hikers and backpackers to explore the varied terrain of Wayne National Forest, with a trail half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km), a 10K and a 5K run/walk.

The routes include challenging singletrack and scenic trails. The 10 Mile Hike sets off at 8:00 a.m., the half marathon and 10K at 9:00 a.m., and the 5K run/walk at 9:15 a.m., and a two-day backpacking trip is also on the program. The festival showcases the Buckeye Trail as a destination for outdoor enthusiasts and a way to discover the natural beauty of the region.
