About

The Blazin' Eagles 5K Fun Run/Walk takes place in Modesto, California, on September 25, 2027, with two races: the 1 Mile (1.6 km) at 8:00 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8:30 a.m. Walkers, joggers and runners are all welcome, and the event benefits Scouting America, with proceeds funding local youth programs ranging from leadership training to educational and outdoor activities.

The back-to-back starts let younger runners do the mile before their parents line up for the 5K, or let a single participant use the mile as a warm-up. For a first race, the most realistic goal is to cover the distance without stopping while still being able to talk, a simple way to avoid going out too fast.
