About

The Big Woods Half Marathon & 10K takes place in Elverson, Pennsylvania, in Berks County, in mid-March. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 7:30 a.m. and the 10K (6.2 miles) at 8:00 a.m.

The event runs through French Creek State Park and features technical trails and significant elevation change. Along the way there is a chance to take in the view from Millers Point and to spot local wildlife. Aid stations are provided on the course, and the shorter race gives newer trail runners a way to take part. It is aimed at experienced runners as well as those looking for a personal challenge in a natural setting. Mid-March mud is common in southeastern Pennsylvania, so plan on grippy shoes and a slower pace on the descents.
