About
The Big River Race takes place in Pasco, Washington, in late May, along the Columbia River at Chiawana Park, a place rich in history and culture. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 7:00 a.m., the 10K at 8:15 a.m., the 5K at 8:20 a.m. and the 1-mile run at 9:30 a.m.
The scenic course is flat and fast, which suits runners chasing a personal best. Themed aid stations, cheer squads and music add to the atmosphere, and afterward participants can relax in the shade of the park and enjoy refreshments. The Columbia Basin is dry and often windy, so check the forecast for headwinds along the river and bring sun protection.
