Barr Lake Trail Race

Barr Lake Trail Race takes place on June 12, 2027, in Barr Lake State Park, Brighton, Colorado. Four distances are offered: 50 km (31.1 mi) with 146 metres of climbing, 30 km (18.6 mi) with 115 metres, the half marathon (13.1 mi) with 57 metres and a 15 km (9.3 mi) with 58 metres.

These are flat distances by Colorado standards — the climbing figures tell you the lake path barely rises — so the limiting factors are the altitude, at around 5,100 feet, and the lack of shade on an open prairie reservoir. Carry more water than the distance suggests, and use the flat profile the way it is meant to be used: one pace, held from start to finish.
