About

The Athletic Brewing Company Fairfield Road Races take place in Fairfield, Connecticut, over a weekend in early June. The program includes a half marathon (13.1 miles) at 8:00 a.m., a 5K, the Lucas Challenge combining the half and the 5K (about 16.2 miles in all), a 1-mile Beer Mile at 9:15 a.m. and a half-mile kids' fun run called the Lil' Stags.

The courses are certified and well supplied with aid stations. Each participant receives a technical shirt and a commemorative finisher medal, and cheer squads and bands line the route. Afterward, a beach party offers live music, food and drinks, followed by an awards ceremony. Coastal Connecticut can be humid in June, so an early pace plan helps.
