Ashdown Forest 10 & 5 Mile Series: Race Two

Ashdown Forest 10 & 5 Mile Series: Race Two is the second round of the series, held on 24 January 2027 in Nutley, England. Two distances are on offer as part of the Ashdown Forest Winter Challenge, both starting at 10:00: a 10-mile (16.1 km) and a 5-mile (8 km) race in the heart of Ashdown Forest.

A winter series has its appeal: rounds follow each other a few weeks apart, letting you measure your progress on a comparable course without building up to a single peak. The 5-mile race fits easily into an ordinary training week, treated as a hard session. The 10-mile race suits runners already used to the half marathon or able to sustain more than an hour of continuous effort. A 10:00 start leaves time for a proper warm-up, which is no luxury in the middle of January.
