About

The Arundel & South Downs Way Winter Trails event offers a trail marathon and a 15-mile (24.1 km) race through the English countryside near Chichester on 17 January 2027. The marathon starts at 8.30am and the 15 mile at 9.30am. The challenging, fully waymarked routes start in Heyshott and finish in Arundel, close to its historic castle.

Designed by trail runners, the routes follow the South Downs Way, with scenic riverside sections, fields, hills and a suspension bridge. A coach service runs between the finish area and the start, and a bag drop is available. Runners must carry mandatory kit suited to winter conditions, and participants can choose to plant a tree instead of receiving a finisher's medal.
