All Hands on Deck The Pirates 5K

The All Hands on Deck The Pirates 5K takes place in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on September 18, 2027, with a single 5K starting at 10:00 a.m. Organized by Give It Forward with a focus on local engagement, the race supports an annual school supply drive: backpacks, notebooks, pencils, markers and calculators are collected and distributed to local students in need.

The family-friendly format and short distance make it accessible to people who don't run regularly, and walking the whole way remains a perfectly viable option. One thing visitors should plan for: Colorado Springs sits at altitude, and a body that isn't acclimatized clearly feels the difference during a sustained effort, even a short one. It's best to start conservatively and pick up the pace later if you feel good.
