Above the Clouds Ultra

Above the Clouds Ultra is held in Woodland Park, Colorado, on October 3, 2026, by Revenant Running. The event has two trail distances: a 50K (31 miles) that starts at 7:30 AM and a 10K (6.2 miles) that starts at 8:00 AM.

Woodland Park sits at roughly 8,500 feet, so the name is not an exaggeration: altitude is the defining feature of both races. The 10K is a manageable way to experience high-country trail running without committing to a long day, and it suits families or runners tuning up for something bigger. The 50K is a good first mountain ultra for runners who already have a trail marathon or a flatter 50K behind them. Train with hills every week, put your long runs on trails with real elevation change and, if you can, arrive a few days early to let your body adjust. Layers are essential in early October at this elevation, where mornings can be near freezing and afternoons mild.
