About

The Abebe Bikila Day International Peace Marathon & Half features a marathon (26.2 miles / 42.2 km) and a half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km) in Washington, D.C., on September 4, 2027, with starts at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. respectively.

The flat, scenic, tree-lined course runs along the Potomac River, starting and finishing at Fletcher's Cove. It follows the C&O Canal towpath, with great views of the historic canal. The course is USATF-certified and sits between 39 and 144 feet (12 to 44 m) above sea level.

Because parking at Fletcher's Cove is limited, participants are advised to use outside parking lots or book a round-trip taxi service from the partner hotel.
