SFASU Homecoming 5K

SFASU Homecoming 5K is run in Nacogdoches, Texas, on October 22, 2026. Two options share a 6:00 p.m. start: a timed 5K over 3.1 miles and an untimed 1-mile fun run, which makes the evening workable for a family group where not everyone wants a race bib and a clock.

For the 5K, the useful preparation is a handful of faster sessions rather than extra mileage: mile repeats at goal effort, a few short hill sprints, and one long run a week to hold your endurance together. The mile is a different animal, closer to a sprint you have to survive, so if you enter it go out controlled and save something for the last quarter.
