Newnan's Lake 15k

The Newnan's Lake 15k is run in Gainesville, Florida, on January 30, 2027, with the single 15K (9.3 miles) starting at 8:30 a.m. One distance, one start, and a length that sits in an unusually useful gap between the 10K and the half marathon.

The 15K deserves more attention than it gets. It is long enough that you cannot bluff your way through on speed alone, but short enough that most runners can race it without gels or a detailed fueling plan. That combination makes it an excellent tune-up six to eight weeks out from a spring half marathon: run it at something close to your goal half pace and you will learn quickly whether that number is realistic. If it is your longest race so far, build a weekly long run to about eight miles beforehand.
