Lone Star Stampede

Lone Star Stampede is held in Sugar Land, Texas, on January 2, 2027, and runs four events off a single morning schedule. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 8:30 a.m., the 1K Kids Dash follows at 8:45 a.m., the 10K goes at 9:00 a.m. and the 5K closes things out at 9:05 a.m.

With every distance from a children's dash to 13.1 miles, this is an easy event for a household to enter together and still meet at the finish. For the half marathon, a January date means your long runs fall through the fall, so count back twelve to sixteen weeks and build a weekend run toward ten or eleven miles. Runners using the 10K or 5K as a tune-up should note the later starts, which leave time for a proper warm-up without an early alarm.
