Lewis & Clark Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run

Lewis & Clark Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run is held in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on April 24, 2027. The marathon (26.2 miles) starts at 6:30 a.m., the half marathon (13.1 miles) at 7:30, the 5K at 8:30 and the kids' 1-mile fun run at 9:00.

The staggered starts mean a family can run four different distances and still meet at the finish before mid-morning. On the road, the marathon is the anchor: about 16 weeks of training, a long run every week, and a couple of sessions at goal pace each month. If you are working toward that distance rather than racing it now, the 7:30 half is a good rehearsal, with the same morning conditions and half the recovery cost.
