Last Chance Ultra

Last Chance Ultra runs in Springfield, Missouri, on December 5–6, 2026, organized by Heartland Racing Co. The first day carries the 100-mile, the 100K (62 miles), the 50-mile and the 50K (31 miles), and a 10-mile follows on the second day. As the name suggests, the calendar slot is the point: this is one of the last chances of the year to log an ultra finish.

Late-season ultras attract two kinds of runner — those chasing a qualifier or a year-end goal, and those turning a big training block into a result before winter. Both benefit from the same thing here: a cold-weather kit plan. December nights in the Ozarks are long, and hours spent moving slowly in the dark chill you far faster than the temperature alone suggests. The 10-mile the next morning makes a good shakeout or a family option.
