Lake Martin 100

Lake Martin 100 is a trail event held at Alexander City, Alabama, on March 6, 2027. Two distances appear on the schedule: a 50 Miler (80.5 kilometers) and a 27 Miler (43.5 kilometers). Start times have not been published. Both formats run on trail around Lake Martin.

The 27 Miler is the more accessible of the two and sits just above marathon distance, which makes it a sensible first ultra if you have already finished a road marathon and done some of your long runs off pavement. The 50 Miler is a different commitment: expect eight to twelve hours on your feet depending on fitness, and build toward it with back-to-back long weekends, deliberate hiking practice on climbs, and a nutrition plan you have rehearsed. Early March in Alabama can be mild by midday, so plan your fluid carry for warmer afternoon hours rather than the temperature at the start.
