LaFayette Reindeer Run

LaFayette Reindeer Run is scheduled for December 5, 2026 in LaFayette, Georgia. Two formats start together at 9:00 AM: a 5K and a 1 mile (1.6 km), which keeps the morning short whichever one you choose. Both are road distances, so expect paved footing and a field mixing local runners, walkers and families.

If you have never raced before, the mile is the friendlier entry point: it is over quickly and gives you a clean number to improve on next time. For the 5K, the useful preparation is unglamorous, three runs a week for a month with one of them including four to six one-minute pickups at hard effort. Runners already in shape can use the December date as a marker before winter training, running it as a time trial and using the result to set paces for the next block.
