Holiday 5K/10K

Holiday 5K/10K takes place in Springfield, Tennessee, on November 21, 2026, as part of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee race series. Three formats run in quick succession: a Family Fun Run/Walk of 1 mile for children 12 and younger at 8:00 AM, the Holiday 10K (6.2 miles) at 8:20 AM, and the Holiday 5K (3.1 miles) at 8:30 AM. The tight schedule means a family can see the kids finish and still make one of the adult starts.

Choosing between the 10K and the 5K comes down to your base. The 10K rewards six to eight weeks of consistent mileage with a weekly long run of 6 to 7 miles and one tempo session; go out conservatively, because the second half is where a 10K is won. The 5K suits first-timers after a month of three short runs a week, and experienced runners can race it off one weekly interval workout. Because the starts are so close together, arrive early, warm up before the fun run if you are also accompanying a child, and line up in the right wave.
