Garland Mountain Trail Run

Garland Mountain Trail Run is held in Woodstock, Georgia, on October 17, 2026, organized by Mountain Goat Adventures. The 4-mile canicross wave, run with a dog, starts at 8 a.m., the 13.1-mile trail run follows at 8:30 a.m., and the 4-mile run goes off at 8:45 a.m. All three take place on the trails at Garland Mountain, north of Atlanta.

Canicross is the unusual feature here and worth planning for: running attached to a dog changes your rhythm, and a few training sessions together beforehand matter more than either of your fitness levels. On the human side, the 4-mile is short enough for a first trail race, while the 13.1-mile version is a trail half marathon that rewards eight to twelve weeks of hilly long runs. Expect slower splits than a road half and let the descents come to you.
