Ferris Fifty

Ferris Fifty is a trail running event in Minden, Nevada, on November 7, 2026. Three distances are on offer: a 50-mile, a 50K (31 miles) and a 15K (9.3 miles). Held in the Carson Valley in November, the event closes out the season for many runners in the Reno and Lake Tahoe area, with the 50-mile as the headline format.

If you have been racing 50Ks and want to step up, the 50-mile is a natural next move, and the November date gives you a full summer and fall to prepare. Plan a 20-week build with back-to-back long runs on the weekends, and include some sessions at altitude if you live at sea level, since Minden sits above 4,700 feet. The 15K is a good choice for a family member or a training partner who wants to share the day without committing to an ultra.
