Fate Turkey Trot

Fate Turkey Trot takes place in Fate, Texas, on November 21, 2026, the weekend before Thanksgiving. The Kid's Dash starts at 7:50 a.m., and the 5K (3.1 miles) and the 1 Mile both start at 8:00 a.m., so you can pick the distance that fits your fitness and still be done in time for the rest of the morning.

If the 5K is your goal, you do not need a long build: three runs a week for six weeks, with one of them including a few minutes at a pace slightly faster than you plan to race, will get you to the finish comfortably. The 1 Mile suits walkers, families and anyone easing back into running after a break. Arrive with time to pick up your bib, jog for a few minutes to loosen up and settle into a realistic pace on the first stretch; the shorter the race, the more a fast start costs you in the last half mile.
