Country Roads Trail Run

Country Roads Trail Run is a Spartan Trail event held in Glen Jean, West Virginia, on September 7, 2026, which falls on Labor Day Monday. Two formats share a 7:05 AM start: a trail half marathon (13.1 miles) and a trail 10K (6.2 miles). The race is part of the West Virginia Trail Experience weekend organized by Spartan Trail.

Both distances suit runners who already train on roads and want to test themselves on dirt without committing to an ultra. If you are new to trail running, the 10K gives you a taste of uneven footing at a manageable length, while the half marathon is a fair goal after 10 to 12 weeks of consistent mileage with one long run per week on rolling terrain.
